Discover and Generate CSS Selectors Easily with Selector Gadget

Are you tired of spending hours trying to generate CSS selectors for complex websites? Look no further! Selector Gadget, an open source Chrome Extension , is here to save the day. With a 4.5 out of 5 rating, this extension has become a valuable tool for web developers and data scrapers alike.

Easily Generate CSS Selectors

Once you install the Selector Gadget extension, you can simply navigate to any page and launch it. A box will appear in the bottom right corner of the website. To start generating a CSS selector, just click on the page element you want your selector to match. The selected element will turn green, and Selector Gadget will generate a minimal CSS selector for it.

Highlight and Modify Selectors

Selector Gadget goes beyond just generating CSS selectors. It also allows you to refine and modify the generated selector to suit your specific needs. The extension highlights everything that is matched by the selector in yellow. You can then click on a highlighted element to remove it from the selector (turns red), or click on an unhighlighted element to add it to the selector.

Through this process of selection and rejection, Selector Gadget helps you fine-tune and come up with the perfect CSS selector for your requirements. It saves you time and effort by eliminating the need to manually write complex selectors or navigate through nested elements.

Positive User Reviews

Users are raving about Selector Gadget's effectiveness and time-saving capabilities. One user mentioned that it has been "literally saving me tonnes of time which I would have otherwise laboriously spent finding the deeply nested elements!" Another user describes it as a "huge time saver!"

While some users have reported minor issues with the extension, such as it not working on certain sites or not handling dynamically added elements well, overall, the positive reviews far outweigh any negatives.

Doesn't handle dynamically added elements very well (at all?). Does produce specific enough selectors to isolate a single element.
